Jim Witkosky

Mr. Witkosky has over 40 years of aviation experience, serving in positions ranging from Aircraft Technician, Manager of Maintenance, Director of Maintenance, Vice President of Maintenance, Director of Safety, and Vice President of Safety for multiple operators in the US. He began his career as an aircraft electrician in the United States Navy, where he quickly excelled in rank and leadership experience while working on Grumman EA6B Prowlers, both onshore and on the flight deck of US Navy aircraft carriers. Mr. Witkosky continued his career working in the civilian sector with companies such as Lockheed, US Airways, Republic Airlines, Pinnacle, Executive Airshare, and others.

Mr. Witkosky began his management career as a Maintenance Manager at Chautauqua Airlines. His leadership style and ability to achieve optimum performance became a driving force behind his career progression, as he was tasked with improving maintenance locations around the US. He was subsequently promoted to Director of Maintenance, where he worked with a team to develop manuals and systems required to start a new Part 121 certificate, which is now Republic Airlines.

 

In 2006, Mr. Witkosky joined Colgan Air, which later became part of the Pinnacle group, and he was subsequently promoted to Vice President of Maintenance. Later, he served as Vice President and Director of Safety for several operators. Mr. Witkosky joined Avmax as the Director of Maintenance in Jacksonville, Florida in 2016.
